Nadine Reinert in the project
The project “Art platform for the promotion of Ural contemporary art” has been running for six weeks. Behind the novice critics are master classes with curator from Sweden Jonathan Habib Enqvist and a series of creative online meetings with Ural artists. Now the project has been joined by Nadine Reinert, a Russian writer from Switzerland. During an online meeting with the participants, Nadine admitted that this is the first time she is taking part in such a project.
– Participation in the” Art platform ” is a completely new experience for me. How can I comment on artists? This is very interesting, ” Nadine smiles.
Our new tutor lives and works in the Swiss city of Basel. Nadine studied philosophy, Russian studies, Slavic studies and modern German literary studies. For 10 years, she has been managing the independent cultural and educational center “Filosofikum”, where she also acts as a curator of cultural programs. Reinert loves Russian classics and often organizes events dedicated to Russian culture and art.
– I also hold creative meetings dedicated to the culture of Switzerland in different cities of your country. Once a year I visit the Krasnoyarsk fair of book culture. I know firsthand the cultural environment of Yekaterinburg and Novosibirsk. Last year, I organized a trip to Moscow for a group of Swiss people. We got acquainted with the works of artists and visited their workshops. It was wildly interesting. Now my Swiss colleagues often ask me when we will fly to Moscow again – ” the expert said. Nadine admitted that in Switzerland, interest in Russian culture is growing year by year.
– Of course, we don’t have many Russian-speaking people, but over the past few years there has been an audience that is interested in your art. What do they know about Russia? First of all, about the great classics – Leo Tolstoy, Fyodor Dostoevsky, Alexander Pushkin, Anton Chekhov. It is always very interesting for me to introduce Swiss people to your modern culture, artists and their views on the world. What is printed in Newspapers or shown on TV about Russia is superficial, – says Reinert.
We remind you that the” Art platform ” is attended by 20 novice authors from Yekaterinburg, Perm, Chelyabinsk, Noyabrsk and other cities, 86 artists and 4 international experts from Sweden, France, Switzerland and the Netherlands. This summer, participants are working on the appearance of a wide variety of texts about the work of Ural artists in General or about their specific works. Meetings with aspiring writers are held online. There are many more interesting interviews, presentations, and individual consultations ahead of the participants.
