The project “Art platform for the promotion of Ural contemporary art” is gaining momentum. The first workshops with novice art critics are held by the famous Swedish curator and writer Jonathan Habib Enqvist. Together with the participants of the “Art platform”, Jonathan reads, analyzes and discusses texts about contemporary art. Now the children will have a series of creative online meetings with Ural artists. Alice Gorshenina was one of the first to join the project. The artist told about her childhood, creativity, plans for the future and shared her attitude to the texts.

“I don’t like complex speech structures. It is important for me that people understand me through the text: who I am, what I do. I don’t want to look like some sky-high, mysterious artist who does something incomprehensible and doesn’t want to explain. Sometimes you come to an exhibition, look at a painting or sculpture, and you don’t see the person who created it,” Alisa Gorshenina told the participants of the Art platform. According to Alice, it is very important to feel the artist through the work, to imagine how he acts, what he does.

Alisa Gorshenin, the world – famous Ural’s artist. The girl works in different genres, but her fame was brought by whimsical sculptures made of textiles. While still a student, Alice’s works participated in the exposition of the 3rd Ural industrial Biennale, then-in the “Bazhov-fest” of the Moscow Garage, the “take-Off” project at VDNH. In 2019, Gorshenina organized the exhibition “Russian folk” in the native village of Yakshina, near Irbit. In February this year, the artist from Nizhny Tagil held an exhibition in the New Tretyakov gallery.

“Art platform” is a tool for dialogue with a professional audience, which will increase the degree of involvement in the artistic environment of Ural authors. The unique cultural project involves 18 new authors from Yekaterinburg, Perm, Chelyabinsk, Noyabrsk and other cities of the Ural region, 86 Ural artists and 4 international experts from the world of contemporary art. Art critics conduct interviews, presentations, take part in training meetings and, of course, work on texts about contemporary Ural art!
